Activities & Support Groups  Cross & Shield Meeting We've had a wonderful year and that is thanks in part to Cross & Shield support meetings. As always, All are invited! We all know the lives, marriages and relationships of homeschooling families are very different than most other families. We focus on child-rearing, marriage and family life. We usually take current news stories, articles, books or experiences and focus on applying a biblical worldview, and teaching our children to do so as well. It might be helpful to listen to this audio and read Douglas Wilson's essay.for food for thought on "The Paideia of God."
Park Days Park Day is an informal gathering of home educating families at area parks. Some Good Shepherd families enjoy "First Fridays" -- or meeting at the park/playground behind the Trussville Library around 11 in the morning on the first Friday of the month. www.alabamahomeschooling.net often has information on park days in other areas.
